Web design for SEO basics

The web design is the part of website creation that consists of the proper layout of images and text on a web page. The actual creation of the web pages can be seen as web design. The web design is one of the most important parts of websites as it can help you best at making your website stand out from the others.

There is no purpose in posting a lot of quality content without having people who read it. Through having a great web design you may actually create a link between content, traffic and more visitors for your online page, blog or website.

The web design includes several techniques that are used for better aesthetic impression and easy navigating of the visitors.

These techniques are presented below in this article:

  • The content should be relevant to the targeted visitors.
  • Your web pages should be user friendly and the navigation should be reliable and simple.
  • The appearance of your website should include only one style throughout your web pages. You should have the same style for text and images in the whole website. The style should be appealing and made in concordance to the targeted visitors.

After the design of your website is finished, your website should be uploaded for the Internet visitors. The main way of doing that is by using a FTP client. After the website is up and running you should focus on getting traffic and writing quality content. Traffic is the most important thing for all websites, as it means visitors.

From traffic you may also increase your popularity or make yourself heard by the Internet community; therefore you should use all the means you can to attract traffic on your website. This may be done using SEO and advertising.

There are many web design companies you may choose from for your website. If you want to launch a new website, it is advisable for you to choose a web design company that does SEO too. This is because you want all the people working at your website to be focused on one main thing: how to attract traffic.

There are web designers that are more concerned on the aesthetic part of the website than on getting traffic. These two things should be simultaneously done: you should have a well looking and SEO friendly website in order to rank well in search engines and have people interested in what you have to say.

In conclusion, if you are a proud owner of a website and want to develop it into something better you should use SEO and web design techniques for that. If you do not have the time or knowledge for that, hiring professionals is the best option for you. You may choose from the big variety of these experts found on the market.

  1. I think how appealing you make your website depends on the type of website. Many times website designers put in so much images, flash and other stuff to make their website appealing. However this also increases the loading time of the website which will frustrate the users.

I think loading time should also be considered before trying to add to many eye-candy features to a website.

    • Yes, loading time is another important point for what usability and user interaction are concerned.
As far as SEO goes, though — that is, essentially, a good ranking in search engines and an immediate brand recognition by visitors — loading time does not matter at all.

However, it definitely does matter if we don’t want people complaining and never come back to our website for more. And if we care about SEO, it would be stupid not to care about people liking our website!

    True.

But even if we care about the SEO side of things, there are still many ways in which we can add lots of visually appealing stuff to out site without slowing it down.

For example, I came past a website that used images as rounded-corners of a table. And upon checking out the properties of those 4 images, the total file size of those 4 images combined was 208kb.

Now, instead of using 4 images to create a rounded effect on our borders and/or tables, we can simply style them using CSS and some HTML. The extra code required in order to create this effect programmatically, is far less than would be required if we were to use 4 images.

+1 For your article, I loved reading it. Keep up the great work!

    • I agree with your point.

  2. In this rat race, an attractive web design plays a vital role in winning customers for your business. If you have the same type of content and web designs like other companies, you will not be able to make your product stand apart in the crowd of competitors. Custom web designs make you look different and unique.
